MS Dhoni to inaugurate new stand in Chepauk to be named after late CM M Karunanidhi | INDvsAUS

Xtra Time Web Desk: Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) has decided to inaugurate the new stand at MA Chidambaram stadium by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin ahead of the third ODI between India and Australia on March 22. The new stand will be named after former Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi. A state of the art indoor training facility will be located on the ground floor of the redesigned Anna Pavilion.

Most of the stadiums across the country is getting a facelift or renovations work is in progress for the upcoming 50 overs World Cup in India and Chepauk is one of them. The iconic stadium which is also the second oldest has seen some milestone moments.

The local state association has decided to honour the deceased Chief Minister Karunanidhi by naming the new stand after him. With the new stand in place the capacity of Chidambaram stadium will increase to 38,000.

The third ODI between India and Australia will be played at the Chepauk on March 22 and it is expected to be a full house.
