Xtra Time Web Desk: MS Dhoni has begun preparations for the IPL 2023 season. The Chennai Super Kings captain has started batting at the indoor nets at JSCA stadium. Dhoni will be leading the Chennai based franchise for yet another season in the cash rich league. He has led CSK to four IPL titles, making him one of the most successful captains in the history of cash rich league. The talisman will be looking to put up a decent show with the bat in the upcoming season.
In the last two editions of the cash rich league, the CSK skipper’s strike rate has been below 130. In IPL 2022 season, Dhoni scored 232 runs in 16 matches.
Dhoni, who is renowned as a finisher has failed to live up to the expectation and that has not helped CSK’s cause. It seemed he does not want to repeat his poor show. The 41-year-old plays just in the IPL as he retired from all forms of international cricket.
IPL 2023 season will tentatively start from March 25, 2023 with the final slated to take place on May 28, 2023.
