Mohun Bagan President apologize for making controversial remark after CFL win

Kolkata: City giant Mohun Bagan won their 30th Calcutta Football League (CFL) last night with a game left after 8 long years. But it had left a sour taste in mouth of millions of Bagan fans as a comment of club president Swapan Sadhan Bose (Tutu Bose) sparked controversies.

At the half-time Mohun Bagan was ahead by 2 goals against Calcutta Customs and it was just a matter of time for them to clinch the long anticipated title after 8 long years. When the presenter of Sadhna News asked Bagan President about his feeling of being the new champions after a long gap, Bose said,”Daughters were being born for the last seven years, suddenly a son has been born. How would you like it if that was the case with you? I have the same feeling”. This comment gone viral on social media and people from everywhere started to criticize.

Though today Mr. Bose issued an unconditional apology to all the fans for his ‘bad’ comment.”After winning the Calcutta Football League after eight long years, I was very emotional. I had no intention to hurt anyone with my comments made during the half time break. I regret for making those comments. I have daughter-in-law and grand children in my family whom I love dearly. I take back my statement. I had no intention of hurting anyone,” said Bose.
