Internet Desk: Legendary Pakistan cricketer and former coach Javed Miandad on Friday involved in a verbal spat with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan after he called Miandad a ‘flop’ coach.

In a meeting of National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Coordination in Islamabad on Thursday, Shaharyar Khan said that Miandad was a great batsman for Pakistan but he had failed to deliver as a coach.

In reply to the PCB chief, Miandad said the PCB chief knew nothing about cricket and Shaharyar is a ‘liar’.

“If you want to inquire about my performance, ask Mushtaq Ahmed, Moin Khan, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Wasim Akram. I told Shaharyar that your players are involved in match-fixing and he rubbished me,” the Dawn quoted Shaharyar as saying.

Supporting Javed Miandad, former Pakistan opener Aamir Sohail said that the PCB chief’s own performance was not quite good and, therefore, he had no right to say anything to Javed. Sohail said that Shaharyar and his management staff are leading Pakistan cricket towards destruction.

“Shaharyar and company are leading Pakistan cricket towards destruction. If all former cricketers unite and form a body, the PCB will not be able to do any injustice to any retired cricketer,” he said.

Shaharyar made another controversial comment when he dubbed outgoing Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq as a better captain than World Cup winning leader Imran Khan.
