Xtra Time Web Desk: Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday made a surprise inclusion in the side for the IPL 2022 match against Delhi Capitals at Wankhede stadium. Delhi’s Harshit Rana, who replaced an injured Rasikh Salam was included in the playing XI in place of Shivam Mavi.
The Knight Riders’ suffered a setback when their fast bowler Rasikh Salam got injured. Salam was bowling at a good pace and the Kolkata team was intent on giving him more matches but his injury would obviously have dealt a blow to Kolkata Knight Riders. Now in his place, young fast bowler Harshit Rana has been included in the team.
Harshit Rana was brought by KKR for his base price of Rs 20 lakh. Apart from being a fast bowler, he also has the ability to bat.
The right-arm medium pacer is a pretty unknown commodity and is yet to make his domestic cricket debut at the senior level. However, he has played some amount of cricket at the junior level. Harshit is primarily a pacer and has picked up as many as 37 wickets from 30 matches at a brilliant economy of less than 6. He has also scored a total of 216 runs at a strike-rate of more than 120.
