Marcus Trescothick, Lewis and Jeetan Patel joins England coaching staff

XtraTime Web Desk – After a disappointing performance in the second and third test match against India, England added Marcus Trescothick as the Elite batting coach for the rest of the series. England also added Jon Lewis and Jeetan Patel to their coaching staff.

Lewis was serving England in the U19 level where he was a bowling coach and now has been promoted to the first team coach. Jeetan Patel who’s already present with the squad will try to improve the spin department.

These three will join the head coach Chris Silverwoo, Paul Collingwood and Graham Thorpe. After a poor result in the third test at Ahmedabad, the performance director of ECB, Mr. Mo Bobat said, “Following an extensive recruitment process, I’m really excited about the calibre of the individuals that we’ve appointed into these specialist roles. Marcus, Jon and Jeetan have demonstrated their ability at the highest level and also show huge potential for the future”.

He added, “With a busy season of cricket fast approaching, I’m grateful to both Somerset and Gloucestershire for releasing Marcus and Richard in a timely manner and I’m looking forward to our new coaching team working together in the build-up to our summer international programme”.
