Internet Desk: Union Minister for Children and Women Development Maneka Gandhi met Rio Olympic bound gymnast Dipa Karmakar today. It was a meeting to send the young athlete good luck for her Rio tour.
“We are proud of Dipa. She represents all the abilities that Indian women have. I am sure that she will do extremely well at Rio”, said Gandhi.
Dipa is the mascot of WCD Ministry’s flagship programme – Beti Bachao. Beti Padhao for the Rio Olympics. She is also an ambassador of this project in Tripura.
Gandhi further added, “Since she is our mascot for Beti…. she will bring greater glory to it.”
