Internet Desk: Fate of Wrestler Narsingh Yadav will be known by Saturday or Monday. National Anti-Doping Agency held the decision for today. After yesterday further the case has been adjourned today.

Yesterday Narsingh was allowed to present his case. Within that time Narsingh also lodged a complaint with police against one fellow wrestler of SAI Sonepat. He alleged that the 17 year old confessed of mixing some suspicious substance to his food.

Also yesterday the report of the second test conducted on Narsingh came out positive. It was likely the same report of the previous one.

NADA was considering only over the report made on the basis of the sample collected on 25th June. NADA lawyer Gourang Kanth is seeking a ban of four years following the previous result. NADA director general Naveen Agarwal said for the time being the agency is treating it as a first offence.

Meanwhile Praveen Rana was selected by Wrestling Federation of India as a replacement of Narsingh in 74kg Freestyle category. Today Indian Olympics Association declared that Narsingh can further replace Praveen if he comes out clear by the anti-doping panel of NADA.

“IOA is just like a post office. We are facilitators. We have nominated Praveen Rana in place of Narsingh on the desire of WFI, which was accepted by the United World Wrestling. If WFI wants to resend Narsingh for Rio Games after a favourable decision from NADA panel and if the UWW agrees to that why would we object to that and we will allow Narsingh to be in the Olympics in that case”, said IOA secretary general Rajeev Mehta.

Lawyers fighting for Narsingh are confident of Narsingh’s coming out smoothly. However, lawyer Kanth says something else. He said, “Narsingh did not produce the relevant circumstantial evidence that there could have been sabotge as had been claimed by them.”
