Manchester City and Liverpool drew 1-1 as Kevin De Bruyne missed a penalty

XtraTime Web Desk – The two giants of English Premier League, Manchester City and Liverpool had a slow start in this year’s Premier League. Both the teams were struggling defensively and needed 3 points to boost their morale for the rest of the tournament.

The match started in a quick pace as both the teams were playing attacking football to guard their defense. In one such attack on the 13th minute, Sadio Mane was brought down in City’s penalty box and Liverpool was given a penalty. Unfortunately, his good fortune came to an end when he missed a penalty that could eventually decide the fate of the match. His penalty miss in the 42nd minute costed ManCity 2 points as the match ended one all after full time.

With this draw, Liverpool currents stands 3rd on Premier League table with 17 points in 8 games while Manchester City stands on 11th position with 12 points in 7 games.

In other fixtures of Sunday, Leicester City beat Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves), 1-0 with a goal from Jamie Vardy while Tottenham Hotspur beat West Bromwich Albion by 1-0 with a goal from Harry Kane. With these wins, Leicester City is now at the top of the table with 18 points in 8 matches while Tottenham Hotspurs are the second team in the league with 17 points in 8 matches.

On another side, West Ham picked up 3 points against Fulham.
