Lucknow Super Giants unveil new jersey for IPL 2023 season

Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian Premier League franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) unveiled their new jersey on Tuesday at Ahmedabad. BCCI secretary Jay Shah launched the new dark blue coloured jersey with red stripes on the sides for the upcoming season. LSG team owner Sanjiv Goenka, captain KL Rahul and mentor Gautam Gambhir was also present.

The franchise has completely changed the colour of their kit and will appear in the 2023 season of the league in a nearly new avatar. While the KL Rahul-led franchise wore a greenish-blue colour jersey in 2022, they have now switched to a dark blue shade.

The new jersey is designed by fashion designer Kunal Rawal. The jersey is inspired by the works of renowned graphic artist MC Escher. It intends to make a bold yet minimalist, precise yet chaotic.

At the unveiling ceremony, the franchise hosted a fashion show with a few LSG stars walking the ramp, including captain KL Rahul, Krunal Pandya, Jaydev Unadkat and Deepak Hooda.

LSG finished third in the points table last year and did well under Rahul’s leadership, winning nine of 17 games. The Lucknow franchise will hope to maintain its momentum in the IPL 2023 season.
