Liverpool star Mohamed Salah tests positive for Covid 19
XtraTime Web Desk - Liverpool and Egyptian star player Mohamed Salah has tested positive for Covid-19 as Egyptian Football Association (EFA) on Friday confirmed this news. The news just broke on the eve of Egypt's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Togo.
While giving a statement about Mo Salah, EFA said, “The medical swab conducted on the mission of our first national football team showed that our international player, Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool star, was infected with the Coronavirus, after his test came back positive”.
“The player does not suffer from any symptoms. The other members of the team tested negative. Salah underwent the medical protocol after the team's doctor coordinated with his English club. In addition to his isolation inside his room and also isolating all his contacts”.
With Mo Salah out of action for sometime, Jürgen Klopp and all the supporters will potentially be in a lot of pressure as Liverpool is already facing so many issues with injuries. Their star defender, Virgil Van Dijk is potentially out for the rest of the season and Joe Gomez is also injured. Trent Alexander Arnold, Thiago, Chamberlain, Fabinho are also not fit to compete as of now.
Thus, without any doubt, the entire management at Liverpool are worried. Even though they are in the title race but with so many injuries and absentees, the fight to glory is getting tough for Liverpool with each passing day.
