As per reports in Spanish sports daily Marca, Messi has reached a two-year contract with Barca and all he needs to do is sign a new paper to confirm the deal. It will also put an end to all the transfer rumours going around with the talisman leaving Barcelona.
Messi, who is now with the Argentina national team preparing for the Copa America will have his current contract expiring at the end of June and with the news incoming, the club fans can breathe a sigh of relief. The Copa América starts June 13, when Argentina takes on Chile.
After Messi made his feelings apparent about quitting Barcelona last season over his dissatisfaction on how the club was being run by the now-ousted Josep Bartomeu regime, the speculations were rife that Messi will quit Barca.
The 33-year-old Argentinean has been with the Catalan club throughout his career, helping them to win innumerable silverwares.
