Legendary Sunil Gavaskar inaugurates cricket ground renamed after him in Leicester on Saturday

Legendary Sunil Gavaskar standing in front of his own painting at the Bharat Sports & Cricket Club ground in Leicester, which was officially named after him on Saturday.

Xtra Time Web Desk: Former India cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar on Saturday unveiled the plaque at the Bharat Sports and Cricket Club in Leicester after the ground was officially named after him. Mr Gavaskar was felicitated by the club members in the presence of long serving former MP Keith Vaz. The Little Master was also given a guard of honor by the first team players as he walked into the ground. Hundreds of Indian fans from in and around Leicester were present at the ground to witness the occasion.

The ground in Leicester will be the third cricketing venue in the world to be named after Sunil Gavaskar. The Little Master had grounds named after him in Kentucky in USA and Zanzibar in Tanzania.
