The team has been working hard at the Kensington Oval in Barbados after completing the US leg of the T20 World Cup 2024. Following an unbeaten run in the group stage, which included victories against Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA in New York, and an abandoned match against Canada in Florida, the team landed in the Caribbean island ready for the Super 8s. They took some time to unwind with a beach volleyball match, a moment captured and shared by the BCCI, before resuming their intense practice sessions.

India is set to compete in Group 1 of the Super 8s, facing Afghanistan, Australia, and Bangladesh. The Rohit Sharma-led team will begin this stage with a match against Afghanistan on June 20 in Barbados, aiming to continue their unbeaten streak and maintain their dominance over Afghanistan, having won all three previous encounters. The team is determined to lift the T20 World Cup by the end of June.
