The Men in Blue secured a resounding 68-run win on Thursday, June 27, at Providence Stadium in Guyana, advancing to their third consecutive ICC event final.

Batting first, India posted a formidable total of 171/7 in their 20 overs. In response, England crumbled, managing just 103 runs in 16.4 overs. This victory marked Rohit Sharma's 49th win as T20I captain, surpassing Pakistan’s Babar Azam, who has 48 wins from 85 matches with a win percentage of 56.47. Rohit achieved his 49 wins in just 61 matches, boasting a win percentage of 78.68.Rohit has been a standout performer in the ongoing tournament, currently the third-highest run scorer. The opening batter has amassed 248 runs from seven innings at an average of 41.33 and a strike rate of 155.97, including three half-centuries. His consistent form has been pivotal for India, regardless of the conditions.

His record-breaking achievements extend further as he is now the leading run scorer in T20Is, amassing 4222 runs from 150 innings at an average of 32.22 and a strike rate of 140.82. Rohit also shares the record for the most hundreds in T20Is, with five to his name.
