Xtra Time Web Desk: Starting from May 17th, the Para Athletic World Championship is set to kick off. Forty athletes from India are participating in this championship, taking place in Kobe, Japan, which marks the highest participation from India in the history of the event, with 32 male and 8 female athletes. Prior to the start of the World Athletic Championship, a farewell event was organized in Delhi for the 33 athletes. Present at the event was the President of the Paralympic Committee of India, Devendra Jhajharia, who expressed optimism that India would clinch at least 14 to 15 medals in this year's championship.

In the previous edition of the Para World Championship, India secured a total of 9 medals, including 3 golds. Expectations are high for notable champions like Sumit Antil, Sandeep Chaudhary, and Simran Sharma to deliver impressive performances in this championship.

Also present at the event were Rahul Todi, the Managing Director of Shrachi Group, He said, "Transcending sporting barriers and fostering the capabilities of competition and equality remain paramount. We at Shrachi Group are committed to contributing to the development of athletes."

Former PCI President Deepa Malik, Indian Oil Corporation officials were also in attendance. Speaking on the occasion, Devendra Jhajharia, President of the Paralympic Committee of India, remarked, "Indian para-athletes will strive for even better results at this year's Paris Olympics than the last Tokyo Olympics."
