Xtra Time Web Desk: India's great Sachin Tendulkar recalled his former coach's teachings on Tuesday, 3 December. Sachin explored how his teachings taught him the value of things. While he was speaking, a rare emotions reflected in his eyes. The environment was just like a great passing his teachings to future greats that he learnt from another great.

While speaking at the unveiling of Achrekar’s memorial at Shivaji Park, he described Achrekar as an "all-rounder" and further explored how his teachings add value to life urging youngsters to respect their kits and take care of them as a mark of gratitude towards the game.

He stated, "I still tell players, that you are on the field because of the bat, respect it. Please remember your cricket kit, don't throw it, put it in a particular space, don't take out your frustration on your cricket kit. I am sitting here because of my kit. I will always pass on sir's messages to the future generation."

Tendulkar also remember Achrekar’s unique approach saying "Ajit (Tendulkar’s elder brother) used to observe that players who were not sir's students were often tense during matches, while sir's students were always calm. This was because sir created practice matches that helped build our temperament."

"Sir had everything—he was like a general store. He had a Swiss knife, glue, sandpaper, and even first aid. After a match, he would say, 'Let's do a match demonstration' and write down the mistakes in a code language. He was always watching, always learning, and sharing his knowledge with us," Tendulkar remembered.
