The intensity of the crowd's admiration was evident when a passionate fan breached security, running onto the field during a break between overs. The fan rushed towards Kohli, bowing down to touch his feet before security personnel intervened and escorted him away.
The frenzy wasn’t limited to the stands—outside the stadium, fans had begun queuing up as early as 4 AM, forming a 2km-long line at the entry gates. Initially, only three gates were scheduled to be opened, but the sheer volume of supporters prompted DDCA officials to allow access through an additional gate. In the rush to enter, some fans stumbled near the entrance, resulting in minor injuries.
