Xtra Time Web Desk: Simone Biles, renowned for her extraordinary gymnastics prowess, continues to make headlines both on and off the competition mat. On Thursday, Biles helped German gymnasts secure seats on a packed bus to the Bercy Arena, the venue for the Paris 2024 gymnastics events. The incident occurred when non-athletes on the bus refused to vacate their seats for the 45-minute journey.

German gymnast Sarah Voss, 24, shared the incident on her Instagram stories after the podium practice, praising Biles for her support. "Not only standing up for herself and her mental health but also fighting for us to get a seat on the overly packed bus toward the arena," Voss wrote.

Voss also posted a photo of a custom, heart-shaped pin adorned with Biles' signature, a token that has become a symbol of friendship and camaraderie among athletes, volunteers, and participants at the Olympic Games. Voss's teammate, three-time Olympian Pauline Schaefer-Betz, also shared her excitement earlier in the week upon receiving Biles' pin. "This one is special," wrote the 27-year-old Schaefer-Betz, who, along with Voss, has gained attention for wearing full-length unitards for comfort and modesty.

Biles, the most decorated gymnast on the world stage, has faced her own mental health challenges and now uses her experiences to inspire and support fellow athletes. Last month, her empathy was evident when she consoled reigning Olympic all-around champion Sunisa Lee during a shaky performance at the U.S. national championships. Biles pulled Lee aside and offered a pep talk, which Lee later described as invaluable. "She understands more than anyone the pressure and has had to deal with the worst, so it really helped to have her in my corner," said Lee, 21.
