Xtra Time Web Desk: Preethi Pal secured her second medal at the 2024 Paris Paralympics by clinching bronze in the Women’s 200m T35 event on Sunday. This achievement follows her historic bronze in the women’s T35 100m race, where she clocked a personal best of 14.21 seconds, marking India's first-ever athletics medal in a Paralympics track event.

All previous athletics medals for India in the Paralympics have been in field events, making Preethi's success a significant milestone. The 23-year-old athlete, hailing from a farmer's family in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, had previously earned a bronze in the same event at the World Para Athletics Championships in May.
