Xtra Time Web Desk: Mumbai cricketer Musheer Khan is reported to be in stable condition following a road accident on the outskirts of Lucknow on Saturday, September 28. Musheer, the younger brother of Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan, was traveling with his father, Naushad Khan, from their hometown of Azamgarh to Lucknow for the upcoming Irani Cup match when their car hit a divider and overturned on the Purvanchal Expressway.

Both Musheer and his father sustained injuries in the accident, with Musheer suffering a neck fracture while his father incurred minor scratches. They were promptly admitted to Medanta Hospital, where they are receiving treatment under the care of Dr. Dharmendra Singh, Director of the Department of Orthopedics.

"Cricketer Musheer Khan, injured in a road accident on the Purvanchal Expressway, was brought to the emergency department of Medanta Hospital due to pain in his neck. His condition is stable and he is out of danger," Dr. Singh stated. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has also provided updates on Musheer’s condition, noting that the MCA medical team is closely monitoring his recovery.

“He has sustained a fracture in the neck region and is under close observation. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Mumbai Cricket Association medical teams are closely monitoring his progress to ensure he receives the best possible care. Once Musheer is deemed medically fit for travel, he will be flown to Mumbai for further evaluation and additional medical treatment,” the MCA stated.

Unfortunately, Musheer's injury has ruled him out for at least three months, forcing him to miss the upcoming Irani Cup, which begins on October 1. The young cricketer had started his domestic season strongly, scoring a century for India B in the Duleep Trophy and making significant contributions to Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy victory earlier this year.
