Xtra Time Web Desk: BCCI has officially announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming IDFC FIRST Bank T20I series against Bangladesh. The Men's Selection Committee has appointed Suryakumar Yadav as captain for the series, which follows the conclusion of the Test matches between the two nations.

One notable inclusion in the squad is Mayank Yadav, the Lucknow Supergiants pacer who made headlines during the IPL 2024 by becoming the fastest bowler, clocking a speed of 156.7 km/h against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Despite his impressive performance, Mayank has faced several injuries post-IPL and has not played in any domestic matches neither had an Indian debut. He reportedly participated in a special training camp for players who have been out of action but remain in contention for the T20I squad.

The selection also saw the omission of key players like Shubman Gill and KL Rahul, likely as a strategy to manage their workload, especially with the New Zealand series and the Border Gavaskar Trophy approaching.
