Xtra Time Web Desk: Olympic javelin star Neeraj Chopra surprised fans by announcing his wedding to Himani Mor, a tennis player-turned-sports management graduate, on January 19. The intimate destination wedding was held at SuryaVilas Resort in Kumarhatti, near Solan, on the Kalka-Shimla Highway, attended only by close family.

Neeraj, known for guarding his personal life, kept the event under wraps, with even close friends learning about it through his social media post. His uncle, Surendra Chopra, revealed that the couple fell in love in the U.S., and their families approved the relationship.

Highlighting simplicity, Neeraj declined dowry and accepted just one rupee as a token gesture. Himani participated in pre-wedding rituals at Neeraj’s village before the three-day celebration, organized from January 14 to 16. Guests adhered to strict privacy rules, including a no-phone policy, and even the officiating priest was unaware of Neeraj’s identity.

Notably, Neeraj’s pet dog, Tokyo—gifted by Abhinav Bindra after his Tokyo Olympics gold—was present at the ceremony. The wedding aligned with Neeraj’s off-season, avoiding scheduling conflicts with his preparations for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
