Xtra Time Web Desk: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) will be held at Lord's in London from June 11 to June 15, 2024, with a reserve day on June 16 if needed.

This marks the third edition of the WTC final, continuing England's tradition of hosting the event. The inaugural final in 2021 took place in Southampton, where New Zealand triumphed over India. The second final was held at The Oval in 2023, with Australia defeating India.

Currently, India leads the WTC standings, with Australia close behind in second place. The top two teams at the end of the two-year Test cycle will face off in the final.

Australia's captain, Pat Cummins, emphasized the significance of the WTC, stating, "Winning the World Test Championship was, and still is, a big goal for this team. It's the culmination of hard work and consistency over the two-year cycle. Hopefully, we'll be there again, but there's a lot of cricket to be played before then."
