Sumit's third throw measured 66.66 meters, and while his fourth attempt was ruled a foul, he came back strong with a fifth throw of 69.04 meters, virtually sealing his victory. Sri Lanka’s Dulan Kodithuwakku provided some competition, but it wasn’t enough to dethrone Sumit, whose final throw of 66.57 meters secured his place at the top of the podium.

While Neeraj Chopra, India’s Olympic hero, settled for silver at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Sumit’s achievement underscores his dominance in the Paralympic arena. With this victory, Sumit has not only brought glory to the nation but also increased India’s medal tally at the Paralympics to 14, including three golds.
