IPL 2025: Why did he register for the IPL auction? James Anderson reveals the reason
Xtra Time Web Desk: Former England pacer James Anderson has registered his name in the IPL 2025 mega auction believing he has many things left to offer to the game. The 42 years old Anderson appeared as a surprise on the list by BCCI having Rs 1.25 crore as base price. After 2008, it is his first attempt to join IPL.
The decision comes just months after his retirement from Test cricket as he is going to introduce a new chapter in his illustrious career. He also expressed his eagerness to continue the game saying, "That's the whole point of going into auction. I want to play again. Whether I get picked or not is a different matter. But I hvae a feeling inside me that I have got more to offer in some shape or form. However, long down the line that might be. In whatever capacity, I am not sure yet. But I am very keen to play. I feel very fit, I have been bowling still I feel like i am in a good place so I would love to get the opportunity to play somewhere."

He is keeping his finger's crossed ahead of the mega auction about getting a chance to play again. "If it were in my hands, I would've continued playing till 50. I believe I am fit and performing well. England were looking at the future, which is perfectly fine", he said to Sky TV.

Anderson still continues to work with England's Test side as their fast-bowling consultant during the home summer and the overseas tour of Pakistan. Now the veteran is all set to grab opportunities coming in his way!
