Ghazabfar has been good in the recent past with his devastating spell in the ODI series against Bangladesh breaking into the headlines. Although he started his cricketing journey as a fast bowler but former Afghanistan skipper Dawlat Ahmadzai explored his talents that turned him into a spinner.

During the 2024 U-19 World Cup, he picked eight wickets in four matches which helped him get a chance to play for his national side and eventually is all set to play for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025. The young spinner was also part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) side that went on to win the IPL 2024 title. He was added to the squad as a replacement for Mujeeb Ur Rahman but did not play any matches for the franchise in the campaign. KKR once again wanted him to be in their camp however Mumbai won the bid for him.
