Xtra Time Web Desk: Punjab Kings' new skipper Shreyas Iyer is set to embark on a fresh chapter in his IPL career, aiming to establish himself at the No.3 position in T20s. After leading Kolkata Knight Riders to the IPL title last season, Iyer made a high-profile switch to Punjab, who acquired him for a staggering ₹26.75 crore.

Speaking at a pre-tournament press conference, Iyer asserted that he is clear about his batting position this season. "If I want to mark myself in T20s, it would be at No.3. That's what I'm focusing on. This time, I'm quite clear about my position, and as long as the coach approves, I’ll stick to it," he stated.
Iyer has a solid record at No.3 in T20Is, having scored 530 runs in 19 matches for India. However, his last T20I appearance came in 2023, and he sees the upcoming IPL season as a chance to re-establish himself in the format.
