Xtra Time Web Desk: Punjab Kings all-rounder Marcus Stoinis played a crucial role in his team's commanding performance against Gujarat Titans in the fifth match of the IPL 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday, March 25.  

Batting at No. 6, Stoinis provided valuable support to skipper Shreyas Iyer, who led from the front with a scintillating knock. The Australian all-rounder entertained the crowd with some clean hitting, smashing two sixes and a four in his 20-run knock off 15 balls, striking at over 133.

One of Stoinis' sixes, however, led to an unfortunate incident. In the 15th over, he pulled a length delivery from Mohammed Siraj over deep mid-wicket, and the ball struck a female security officer on her leg as she was walking near the boundary ropes. Fortunately, she received immediate medical attention.  

Despite his brief stay at the crease, Stoinis' quickfire runs contributed to Punjab Kings' mammoth total of 243 runs, giving the team an early advantage in IPL 2025.  

While Stoinis played his part, the night truly belonged to *Shreyas Iyer, who delivered a captain's knock of 97 off 42 balls, blasting 5 fours and 9 sixes. He received strong support from Shashank Singh (44 off 16) as Punjab Kings finished with a dominant total.

Punjab Kings then put up a solid bowling effort to defend the score, securing a  thrilling 11-run victory  and making a strong start to their IPL campaign.
