1. 0-2 vs South Africa (Feb-Mar 2000)
India’s only home whitewash in the 21st century came at the start of 2000 when South Africa secured a two-match series victory. In Mumbai, despite a 97-run effort from Sachin Tendulkar, India were bowled out for 113 in the second innings, and Herschelle Gibbs’ 46 helped South Africa chase down 163 to win by four wickets. In Bengaluru, South Africa’s 479-run first innings helped secure an innings-and-71-run victory. Jacques Kallis was named Man of the Series for his all-round performance.

2. 1-2 vs Australia (Oct-Nov 2004)
Australia clinched the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a 2-1 victory in a four-match series in 2004. Australia started strong, winning by 217 runs in Bengaluru. The second Test in Chennai was drawn, but the Aussies hammered India by 342 runs in Nagpur to secure the series. India managed to win the final Test in Mumbai by 13 runs. Damien Martyn, who scored 444 runs, was named Man of the Series.

3. 1-2 vs England (Nov-Dec 2012)
In 2012, England stunned India by clinching a 2-1 series victory. India won the first Test in Ahmedabad by nine wickets, with Cheteshwar Pujara's double century taking Player of the Match. England bounced back in Mumbai as Kevin Pietersen’s 186 and Monty Panesar’s 10-wicket haul led to a 10-wicket win. In the third Test in Kolkata, Alastair Cook’s 190 helped England secure a seven-wicket win, and they drew the final Test in Nagpur to win the series 2-1. Cook was named Player of the Series for his 562 runs.
