Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India captain Rohit Sharma has revealed that the team is still undecided on their playing XI for the first Test against New Zealand, primarily due to uncertain weather conditions in Bengaluru. Speaking at the pre-match press conference on Tuesday, October 15, Sharma mentioned that the team management is waiting to finalize the lineup based on the evolving conditions.

Sharma confirmed that India will field at least two spinners in the Bengaluru Test and could consider a third depending on the pitch. With rain forecasted for all five days, there’s a possibility India could opt for a balanced bowling attack featuring three seamers and two spinners.

"It all depends on the conditions. Today it has been raining. The pitch is under covers. We will take a call tomorrow morning on 3 pacers or 2 pacers and our best-playing XI. We are keeping our options open," Rohit Sharma said at the pre-match press conference on Tuesday, October 15.

India would like to extend their terrific start in Test cricket under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir. In the last Test match that India played against Bangladesh, they came out all guns blazing, taking the Bangladesh side to the cleaners. Sharma said that India were not set on just one approach and would react to situations depending on the position of the Test match.

"We'll see how the days pan out. Then we will take a call. In Kanpur, we didn't get the game on two days and then decided to go for the win. I don't know what it is going to be here. We'll see what lies ahead of us and then take a call. We want to try and win games," the Indian captain said on the team's approach.

A day before, India head coach Gautam Gambhir reminded the media that his team does not play any particular style of Test cricket. The Indian team are coming off a sensational series victory against Bangladesh where they blew away the Najmul Shanto side with an aggressive brand of cricket in Kanpur.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference ahead of the Bengaluru Test Gambhir said that if need be, Indian batters have the skillset to bat for 2 days if they needed to save a Test match. Gambhir said that he was proud of the Indian team, which had the luxury of having several talented batters throughout its line-up.
