Xtra Time Web Desk: Mitchell Santner continued his dominance over Virat Kohli in the Pune Test, dismissing the Indian captain for just 17 in the second innings on Saturday, October 26. This marked the sixth time Santner has claimed Kohli's wicket across formats. In India’s pursuit of a competitive target, Santner’s spin proved challenging, derailing the innings as he added to his impressive haul.

In the first innings, Santner had dismissed Kohli off a full toss, marking the beginning of a career-best 7-wicket spell. India began their second innings promisingly with a 62-run opening stand between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill. However, after the lunch break, Santner’s accuracy and guile triggered a collapse.

Kohli, wary of his previous dismissals, displayed caution against Santner. However, in the 30th over, the left-arm spinner fired in a delivery that struck Kohli’s back leg. The on-field umpire raised his finger, and though Kohli reviewed, ball tracking confirmed an umpire’s call, much to the crowd’s disappointment.
