Xtra Time Web Desk: The last leg of India's home Test season will kick off on October 16, Wednesday, as India face New Zealand for the 1st Test at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. India will play a three-match Test series against the Tom Latham-led side before they head to Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy series. The second Test will be played 24-28 October at Pune's Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. The third and final Test will take place from 1-5 November at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium.

The match will be crucial as India aim to strengthen their position at the top of the World Test Championship standings. New Zealand, on the other hand, are struggling to find their feat in the sub-continent conditions, having suffered a 0-2 loss against Sri Lanka. The maiden ICC WTC champions currently stand at the 6th position in the World Test Championship points table.
