Xtra Time Web Desk: India shattered multiple world records within just two hours as they played Test cricket with a Twenty20 mindset to push for a win in the rain-hit Kanpur Test against Bangladesh. Following Bangladesh's dismissal for 233 in the second session, India batted aggressively, breaking records for the fastest team 50, 100, 150, and 200 in Test cricket, all in a bid to force a result on the final day.

Persistent rain had washed out play for two days, making a draw seem likely. However, India, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, showcased a selfless, attacking approach, reminiscent of their ODI World Cup-winning strategy. They batted at a record pace of 8.22 runs per over, surpassing Australia's previous best of 7.53 in a Test against Pakistan in 2017. Even England’s famed “Bazball” looked tame in comparison as Indian batters aimed for quick runs.

Rohit and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave India a blistering start, treating the contest like an IPL chase. Jaiswal's fifty came in just 31 balls, and although Rohit’s innings ended early due to a lapse in concentration, the intent was clear. Despite losing wickets, India's aggressive approach continued with contributions from Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul. Kohli’s 47 off 35 and Rahul’s 68 off 43 kept the momentum going, earning applause from the dressing room led by head coach Gautam Gambhir.
