At stumps, Bangladesh had reached 158/4, leaving India just six wickets away from a 1-0 lead in the series.

Tendulkar took to X (formerly Twitter) to laud both batters, expressing his admiration for Gill’s composed innings and Pant’s sharpness after nearly two years away from Test cricket. "Loved watching @ShubmanGill glide his way to a hundred. And @RishabhPant17, despite being away from the longer format for quite some time, looks as sharp as ever. Great to see both of them in such fine rhythm!" the cricket icon tweeted.

The pair’s innings, especially after reaching their respective fifties, saw a gear shift as they unleashed a variety of shots against Bangladesh’s bowling attack. Pant, known for his flamboyant style, brought out his innovative strokeplay, while Gill stuck to a more classical approach, securing his fifth Test hundred.
