Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India captain Rohit Sharma addressed the media on Tuesday, expressing confidence in his strong working relationship with head coach Gautam Gambhir and the newly appointed support staff. Despite the differences in coaching styles between Gambhir and his predecessor Rahul Dravid, Rohit emphasized the smooth transition during India's recent white-ball series in Sri Lanka.

Gambhir, a former opener and World Cup winner, took over as head coach in July, guiding India to a 3-0 T20I series win, though the team lost the ODI series 0-2. The upcoming Test series against Bangladesh in Chennai marks Gambhir's first Test assignment as head coach.

Acknowledging the shift in approach, Rohit said, “Rahul bhai, Vikram Rathour, and Paras Mhambrey had their own methods, and it's natural for a new staff to bring fresh perspectives. But in Sri Lanka, the new team showed they understand the dynamics of our squad.”

Dravid's tenure ended after India's T20 World Cup triumph in the West Indies, and he's now set to coach IPL's Rajasthan Royals. Rathour and Mhambrey were replaced by Abhishek Nayar (assistant coach) and South African Morne Morkel (bowling coach), with former Dutch all-rounder Ryan ten Doeschate joining as an assistant coach.

Rohit highlighted his long-standing relationships with Gambhir and Nayar, which have fostered a comfortable working environment. "I've known Gautam and Abhishek for years, and each coaching team has its own style. Over my career, I've adapted to different coaches, and that's crucial."

While Rohit hasn't previously worked closely with Morkel and Doeschate, he expressed confidence in the duo based on his experience playing against them. "I’ve faced both Morne and Ryan on the field, and so far, we've had no issues working together."

In his earlier press interaction, Gambhir had downplayed concerns about his rapport with senior players, stressing his familiarity with the team and support staff.
