Xtra Time Web Desk: Arshdeep Singh has shared insights into how Jasprit Bumrah's exceptional bowling, akin to a "video game" in terms of its precision and economy, has significantly contributed to his own success in the T20 World Cup 2024. As India advanced to the semi-finals, both Bumrah and Arshdeep have been pivotal, with Arshdeep emerging as one of the top wicket-takers in the tournament.

After India's victory against Australia, Arshdeep attributed his success to Bumrah's impactful bowling. In a conversation with fellow cricketer Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep highlighted that Bumrah's presence at the other end has eased the pressure on him. He explained that Bumrah's tight bowling compels batters to take more risks when facing him, leading to more wicket-taking opportunities.

"I don't think it has been that difficult for me. The way Jasprit (Bumrah) bhai is bowling, it's like it's from a video game, especially with the economy he is bowling at."

"So all the pressure that is on the batters, they try to take it out on me. They try to play high-risk shots, and I end up getting wickets. So a lot of credit goes to him," said Arshdeep.

Arshdeep also feels he is getting a lot of support from the rest of the bowling, who have been doing well in partnerships.

"And all the other bowlers we have is also helping me out. They're bowling in partnerships. One is stopping runs from one end and the other is getting wickets. So as a bowling unit, everyone is clicking well and the support is good," said Arshdeep.

Both Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh have been exceptional for India, particularly during the powerplay overs in the T20 World Cup 2024. Bumrah's standout performances earned him the Player of the Match awards in the first two games against Ireland and Pakistan, thanks to his outstanding economy rate.

Bumrah has taken 11 wickets in 6 matches with an impressive economy rate of 4.08. Arshdeep, meanwhile, has claimed 15 wickets in 6 matches, placing him just one wicket behind the tournament's leading wicket-taker, Fazalhaq Farooqi.

India is set to face England in the semi-final 2 of the T20 World Cup 2024 in Guyana on Thursday, June 27.
