Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India captain Rohit Sharma was in ruthless form on Monday, June 24 as he tore into the Australian new ball attack in their T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 match in St Lucia. Rohit Sharma put the pressure back on the Australian fast bowlers after India lost Virat Kohli out for a five-ball duck at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium. India raced to 60 for 1 at the end of the powerplay and Rohit had already scored his fifty, putting on a show of destructive batting.

Rohit Sharma tore into Mitchell Starc, hitting four sixes against the left-arm pacer. The Australian star leaked 29 runs as he was smashed all over the park, much to the delight of the Indian supporters at the scenic venue. Rain interrupted play after the end of the fourth over, but the break in proceedings did not hamper Rohit Sharma's concentration and his intent to go big.

In the fourth over of the contest, Rohit Sharma greeted Pat Cummins with a huge one that landed on the mid-wicket stands. Rohit Sharma was looking to pull, but the ball did not bounce as much as he expected. However, he adjusted quickly, went on one knee and smashed it out of the ground.It was a 100-meter six, one of the biggest in the ongoing edition of he men's T20 World Cup.

Rohit Sharma celebrated a huge landmark in his career with that 100m six as he became the first man in T20I cricket to hit 200 big ones.

Rohit had hit 8 sixes and 7 boundaries by the time he went past 90 in less than 40 deliveries as he hit more than 70 percent of his total with boundaries. It was a terrific show from Rohit Sharma as India walked the talk in terms of intent.
