Xtra Time Web Desk: As India gears up for the high-stakes T20 World Cup semifinal against England in Guyana, Captain Rohit Sharma has shared his secret to effective leadership: maintaining calmness under pressure. Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Rohit emphasized the importance of composure and simplicity, especially in high-pressure situations.

"Staying calm has worked for me over the years," Rohit stated. He acknowledged that while staying cool and composed helps him make crucial on-field decisions, occasional outbursts are natural. "Sometimes you can lose your cool as well. At the end of the day, I am a human being, and if I see something we have spoken of not happening, it's alright to lose your cool sometimes," he added.

Rohit highlighted the constant pressure faced by the Indian cricket team, whether in bilateral series or ICC tournaments. "The Indian cricket team is always under pressure. It's been like that since I started playing," he noted. To cope with this, Rohit stresses the importance of maintaining calmness within the team environment, both on and off the field. "It’s important that everyone stays under control and takes the game as it comes," he advised.

Rohit underscored the value of experience within the squad, particularly during tough situations. "Experience helps when you are going through pressure overs. You’ve got individuals to make the right decisions, and we completely back those decisions," he explained. He emphasized team unity and the necessity of backing each other's decisions to ensure everyone is on the same page.
