Xtra Time Web Desk: India's cricket team captain, Rohit Sharma, is placing a significant emphasis on understanding and adapting to the conditions in New York during their T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up match against Bangladesh on June 1. The game, set to take place at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, is the only warm-up fixture for the Indian team before the commencement of the tournament.

Rohit Sharma highlighted the importance of acclimatizing to the new environment, as the team has not played in these conditions before. He stressed that this warm-up match is critical for the team to familiarize themselves with the ground and pitch conditions, which will help them get into the rhythm before their first official game on June 5. The focus is on gaining a feel for the pitch and the overall environment to ensure the team is well-prepared for the challenges ahead in the World Cup.

It’s just about getting into that rhythm of getting the feel of the ground, pitch and stuff like that,” said Rohit in a video released by the ICC.

Further speaking ahead, the Indian captain expressed excitement for the upcoming T20 extravaganza being hosted for the first time in the USA. The 37-year-old stated that he’s expecting a good crowd throughout the event and the players are equally excited.
