Xtra Time Web Desk: Fayaz Ansari, a makeup artist from Bijnor, tragically drowned in a swimming pool in the West Indies. Ansari had accompanied former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The incident has left his family in turmoil.

Originally from Mohalla Qazi Sarai in Nagina Tehsil, Bijnor, Fayaz Ansari moved to Mumbai 22 years ago, where he established his own salon. During this time, Irfan Pathan became a regular visitor to his salon, and Ansari eventually became Pathan’s personal makeup artist, accompanying him on international trips.

Mohammad Ahmed, Ansari’s cousin, reported that the Super 8 matches of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 are being held in the West Indies. Pathan, now part of the commentary team, had taken Ansari along. On Friday evening, June 21, Ansari drowned in a hotel swimming pool. This devastating news has left his family, including his wife of two months, inconsolable.

Pathan is handling all formalities in the West Indies to bring Ansari’s body back to India. The family plans to receive the body in Delhi, which is expected to take about three to four days.
