When we talk about Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's approach to answer critics, perhaps this is the best way one can follow! Their performance in ICC Champions Trophy 2025 which boosted India to get the trophy back in home silenced all their critics.

On Sunday, March 9; India lifted Champions Trophy defeating New Zealand by 4 wickets. The path was not easy, the world witnessed that. India was going through a tough patch with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli facing criticism over their underwhelming performances but as the best knows best!

The Indian captain, along with Kohli, were under scrutiny over their spots in the team after the disastrous Australia tour. Both men were trolled and Rohit even had questions raised over his captaincy while the Champions Trophy was going on. Rohit and Kohli decided it was best to answer on the field. India's Ro-Ko 'jodi' also gave the best answer.

“Koi future plan ni hai. Jo chal ra hai wo chalega (There’s no future plan, things will keep on going as they are). I'm not going to retire from this format. Just to make sure that no rumours are spread moving forward."

These were the words delivered by Indian skipper Rohit Sharma while addressing the press after ICC Champions Trophy triumph. 

As the senior duo are committed to Indian cricket as they want to see the Indian team in a better state. The intention to place India in a better place was quite evident in Virat's words as he said, "For sure. I try to speak to these guys as much as possible, share my experience about my longevity. I try to step in wherever I can to help improve their games. When you want to leave, you want to leave the game in a better position. That's what we are striving for."

"Then, eventually, when we are finally done at whatever stage, we have a squad that is ready to take on the world, dominate for 8-10 years. These guys have the game to do so."

"They have stepped up already. We are in good hands," he added.

With both men not retiring, Indian cricket is all set to achieve more golden feathers. 140 crore people will be there to cheer for India and witness the success.
