Xtra Time Web Desk: India all-rounder Axar Patel has revealed that captain Rohit Sharma is yet to fulfill his promise of taking him out to dinner after dropping a crucial catch during India’s Champions Trophy 2025 opener against Bangladesh. Rohit dropped Jaker Ali at first slip when Axar was on a hat-trick, leading to visible frustration as the skipper repeatedly slammed the ground.
After the match, Rohit promised to make up for the missed opportunity by treating Axar to dinner. However, Axar recently disclosed that the dinner plan is still pending. With India having a six-day break before their final group game, Axar hopes to finally cash in on the promise.

"We have a six-day break. I think we have qualified as well. So, I think now I will have a chance to ask him for my dinner," Axar said while speaking to the ICC.
India have secured their spot in the semi-finals following New Zealand’s five-wicket win over Bangladesh. The Men in Blue have been in dominant form, defeating both Bangladesh and Pakistan by six wickets in their first two matches. They will face New Zealand in their final group clash on March 2.
India’s batting has been a highlight, with Shubman Gill scoring a century against Bangladesh and Virat Kohli notching his 51st ODI hundred against Pakistan. The middle order has also contributed significantly, ensuring strong performances in both chases.
