Xtra Time Web Desk: Pakistan’s batting performance in their 2025 ICC Champions Trophy match against India came under heavy criticism from fans, who labeled it as too "slow" and "boring." Social media was flooded with reactions from both Indian and Pakistani supporters, many joking that the innings was so sluggish it made them feel sleepy.

Batting first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Pakistan struggled to accelerate and were bowled out for 241 in the final over, setting India a modest 242-run target. Saud Shakeel was the top scorer with 62 off 76 balls, but no other batter managed to cross the fifty-run mark. More notably, apart from Haris Rauf, no batter or tailender maintained a strike rate above 100. The team collectively hit only 14 boundaries and failed to clear the ropes for a six until the 42nd over.

While the slow nature of the pitch played a factor, Pakistan’s cautious approach and frequent wickets prevented them from building momentum. Captain Babar Azam showed some attacking intent with a 23-ball 26 but fell while chasing a wide delivery from Hardik Pandya. Soon after, Imam-ul-Haq was run out, forcing Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan into a rebuilding phase. Their 104-run partnership consumed almost half the innings, leaving the middle and lower order with little time to accelerate.
