Xtra Time Web Desk: Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has weighed in on the future of Indian stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the national team. Following their recent retirement from T20Is after India’s triumphant campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024, speculation has mounted regarding their roles in the remaining formats.

Harbhajan expressed confidence in Rohit's longevity, stating that the 37-year-old captain can easily continue playing for another two years, dubbing him one of the fittest players in the squad.

Furthermore, Harbhajan highlighted Kohli’s exceptional fitness, suggesting that the star batter could remain competitive for at least five more years. "You could put any 19-year-old against Virat, and Virat would still outperform them. That's how fit he is," Harbhajan remarked.

Despite Kohli's recent struggles with form, including a subpar performance in the T20 World Cup and a disappointing ODI series against Sri Lanka, Harbhajan believes both Kohli and Rohit have significant cricket left in them. "As long as they are fit, performing, and helping the team win, they should continue to play. It's as simple as that," he added.

Though he struggled throughout the tournament, he delivered a crucial 76 off 59 balls in the final. In contrast, Rohit Sharma emerged as the top scorer in the ODI series against Sri Lanka, amassing 157 runs across three innings, although India ultimately suffered a 0-2 series defeat.
