Feels fantastic..', David Warner to lead Sydney Thunder again!
Xtra Time Web Desk: Star Aussie cricketer David Warner has been appointed as the captain of Sydney Thunder for the upcoming session of Big Bash League. The decision came after Cricket Australia lifting captaincy ban from Warner on October 25.
The Aussie opener was serving captaincy ban following the 2018 Sandpaper-gate scandal. He was then the vice captain of Australia when the incident came to sight. Although Warner has been the foundation of Sydney Thunder since long now he will be back in his role as he will be aiming to share his experiences with the young talents.

While talking team's official website, Warner stated, “Captaining the Thunder again this season means a lot to me. I was part of the team from the start, and now to be back with that ‘C’ next to my name feels fantastic. I’m looking forward to leading from the front and sharing my experience with the young talent coming through."
Keeping the importance of the leadership off-field in mind, Warner wants to create a familiar environment in the camp as he said, “Leadership off the field is just as crucial. I want to create an environment where we can all take a break from the game, bond, and enjoy ourselves. Whether it’s over a team meal, out on the golf course or engaging with our fans in Western Sydney, it’s all about building camaraderie and staying grounded."
Paying tribute to Chris Green and Jason Sangha who were the captains of the Thunder during his ban, he mentioned about his eagerness to learn from them saying “I want to compliment the way Greeny (Chris Green) led from the front. He’s an exceptional talent with fantastic leadership qualities. Jason Sangha, too, before his injury. I gained great insight from both, and I know they’re guys I can lean on this season."
