Xtra Time Web Desk: After the batsmen put up a show, the bowlers joined the party as Bengal were in a strong position at the end of the second day against Karnataka in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday. 

After posting 301 in their first innings, Bengal reduced Karnataka to 155/5 at stumps on Day 2. The home side were still trailing by 146 runs.

Debutant Rishav Vivek (2-44), Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal (2-53) and Ishan Porel (1-38) were lethal with the ball for Bengal. 

Karnataka star batters Mayank Agarwal (17) and Manish Pandey (0) failed to make an impact.

Earlier, after skipper Anustup Majumdar's brilliant ton, Shahbaz Ahmed (59), Aamir Gani (18) and Suraj (16) scored handy runs to help Bengal put up a challenging total.
