Xtra Time Web Desk: Rahul Dravid has officially been appointed as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals, marking a significant return to the team where he had previously left a lasting legacy both as a player and mentor. Dravid's return comes after a highly successful tenure as the Indian cricket team’s head coach, where he ended on the highest note by guiding India to the T20 World Cup 2024 title. This victory was especially significant as it helped erase the disappointment of India's loss in the 2023 ODI World Cup final.

Reports by Cricbuzz indicate that Dravid turned down lucrative offers from other franchises, including "blank cheque" offers, to rejoin Rajasthan Royals. The reason for this decision dates back to 2011 when Dravid, after being released by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), was picked by Rajasthan Royals for USD 500,000—a move that kickstarted a strong association.

Dravid was also credited with nurturing young talents, including Sanju Samson and Ajinkya Rahane, who flourished under his mentorship.

Dravid’s return to Rajasthan Royals, a team he holds close to his heart, marks a new chapter in their journey. Fans will be eager to see if he can lead them to IPL glory as successfully as he did with the national team.
