Xtra Time Web Desk: With the two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh just around the corner, Indian batsman Sarfaraz Khan has lauded captain Rohit Sharma for his exceptional leadership qualities. Sarfaraz, who made his Test debut against England earlier this year, showcased his talent with 200 runs at a strike rate of 79.37 over three matches, including a memorable 62 off 66 balls.

Recently recalled for the upcoming series, Sarfaraz praised Sharma’s inclusive and supportive approach in an interview with Jio Cinema. He noted, “He’s very different, makes you comfortable, and is like an elder brother to us. I enjoy playing with him. He never treats you like a junior. He’s a positive guy. The way he speaks, it boosts your confidence,” as reported by ANI.

Sarfaraz also drew an interesting comparison to his favorite film, Lagaan, stating that Rohit Sharma reminds him of Aamir Khan’s character in the movie. “For me, he’s Lagaan’s Aamir Khan. It feels like he’s part of your family,” he added.

The Test series will begin on September 19 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, with the second Test taking place in Kanpur on September 27. Head coach Gautam Gambhir is set to embark on his debut assignment, while the team also welcomes back wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant and introduces pacers Akash Deep and Yash Dayal.
