Xtra Time Web Desk: Barcelona's teenage sensation Lamine Yamal scored twice as La Liga leaders Barcelona comfortably defeated Girona 4-1 on Sunday, extending their perfect start to the season. Hansi Flick’s men have now won all five of their opening matches, taking revenge for last season's two derby losses to Girona with an emphatic victory at Montilivi.

Yamal opened the scoring with a superb first-half brace, while Dani Olmo and Pedri Gonzalez added further goals after the break. Cristhian Stuani netted a consolation for Girona, last season’s surprise package who finished third but lost several key players over the summer.

Under the guidance of new coach Hansi Flick, Barcelona showcased their best performance yet. “You can see the confidence we have, and when we have the ball, we create chances," Flick remarked post-match. Yamal’s opener came after he intercepted David Lopez’s pass and finished coolly past Paulo Gazzaniga. His second goal followed just before halftime with a precise strike from the edge of the box.

In the second half, Olmo extended the lead with a sharp finish, before Pedri added a fourth. Despite a late goal from Stuani, Barcelona maintained control, with Robert Lewandowski also coming close to scoring. With this win, Barcelona stay atop the La Liga standings, while Girona now shift focus to their Champions League debut against Paris Saint-Germain.
